Lesson 3 in setting up your Adult site

Today's teaching plan was supposed to be about creating a post linking to a Free Hosted Gallery (Industry Jargon - FHG, Free Hosted Gallery, HG; also FMG, HMG, Free or Hosted Movie Gallery) using a Cash Maniacs gallery, but I wanted to know for certain if this approach was within TOS for Cash Maniacs. I've done it before, but before I tell YOU to do it, I wanted to make sure it was kosher.

You don't want to get kicked out of a program 3 days after signing up, lol.

So I fired off an email to webmaster support. So we'll wait for an answer on that. Now this is a good opportunity for you to go into your spreadsheets, and to your email applications, and add the email contacts for your sponsors and other programs. Just add them on the same line, unless you DB folks want to add a linked table.

You can also email your sponsors, and introduce yourself.

And it's a good time to talk about Firefox. This is a browser app like IE, but oh so much better. One of the things we're going to do is to TELL you to download FF, and install some extensions. Extensions are "little" programs that add to Firefox's capability, and will make a lot of the repetitive tasks easier, or combine the function of another program into your browser.

Go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/. Download and install FF. Then open up FF and come straight back here, and book mark this page again.

Now we'll share a useful function of FF. Tabs: tabs allow you to open a new "window" in your browser. Try CTRL+T, and tell me that having that there isn't easier then having two IE windows open.

With your new open tab, go back to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/

and search for, then install

Restart Tabbed
AutoFormer
Copy Plain Text
FireFTP
InFormEnter
SearchStatus
Snapper
Copy As HTML Link

You don't have to do this in order, but it will go faster if you install the Restart Tabbed extension first, as you should restart the FF application everytime you install a new extension.

We'll use other extensions (we are going to have a collection of RSS readers!), but we'll get there.
Take some time to read over and understand these extensions, and play with them to get an understanding of how they're used. We won't use FTP or SearchStatus too soon, but have them handy for when we do. Over time, we'll be adding more extensions.

Now you might be saying, "Hey I don't even have my first post up yet". Don't worry Grasshoppa, you aren't going to make a dime offa that first post anyway. Now if you tell good dirty stories, or has a friend that wants to write a transvestite midget story for you, bang that sucker out and post it (actually, whatever you do, make sure it stays close to your niche). SE's love posts about 400-600 words long, in my understanding. You can also make a online poll, or something like that, if you find it necessary to HAVE a first post today (you lucky thumbloggers are grinning here, rite?)

Don't worry, be happy. The race goes to the slow and steady here. Soon we'll even start formatting our blogs so they actually look good, and we'll begin promoting them. It's never too early to start promoting your site, so if you want to start emailing people about your site, go rite ahead.

DO NOT put up any cheesy "under construction", or "coming soon" graphics or text. Hell, look at this site, it's not done yet, and you'll see as I add lessons, that I'm adding content to the site in other ways. The point I'm trying to make is that your site doesn't have to be perfect before you "launch" it. But, the sooner it gets indexed, the sooner you'll see traffic.

BTW, don't worry about traffic yet, either.
