Lesson 5 on starting your Adult site - Putting some things together
Today, we're going to go ahead and put some of the earlier things together, and get some content on your blog.
First thought of the day. If you want to add PPC clicks on your blog, you can't use the redlightblog free blog. They aren't allowing adding HTML code to the sidebar. You CAN still add PPC ads in the posts themselves, but these ads work best when left in a permanent place on your blog. I don't advocate dropping this blog, becaquse they do a good job of driving traffic to your new blog, and you can still add sponsor content to individual posts.
SO - from here on out we are going to be focusing on Thumblogger techniques.
So let's start by adding material from Movie Dollars MHG's to your site, because I have already discussed this with their support, and it's allowable. Open up a tab (remember, you are using Firefox at this point, so CTL + T) for your blog admin, and another for your Movie Dollars account.
In the blog window, make sure you go to the blog you want to use (Thumblogger allows you to have several blogs) and create a new post.
In your Movie Dollars tab, click the "Webmasters" button at the top menubar, 3rd from left, then the "Galleries" link on the second side bar. For now, ignore all the other options, and select the "Category" choice halfway down the page on the left. Choose the selection closest to your niche. The choice of galleries will change. Use the "preview" buttons to pick a gallery you like. Highlight and copy the link in the left section.
Go back to the create post window and copy the link into your post. Now you're going to add
after the link,
then you're going to describe the link in ten to twenty words,
then your going to add
< /a >
after the link.
Congratulations, you are now a web programmer, and all you did was to tell the blog to start looking like a link
where to go
href
how to display
between the first set brackets,
and to go back to regular typing
< /a >
Now type out a longer description of the scene. You need to make the surfer WANT to go to the gallery.
Add a title, and in redlightblogs a short summary.
Add or create post at the bottom.
Then go to your site, and see if it worked.
If it didn't, leave a comment on this post with your weblog address, and I'll take a look. (see HINTS, on the sidebar)
But wait, weren't we going to put up a pic, too?
That's for tomorow. I want you to understand exactly what your doing, and not just to mimic a script. You can make your own script for doing things once we get going.
In fact, you can even do it again with a new post, and do a Cash maniacs gallery. Practice as much as you want, because we can go back and change dates on your blog to make it look like you are updating once a day, instead of 10 posts 1/day. That is something else we'll be looking at in future lessons.
Now, let's add some some ads. (Thumblogger only - in redlight blogs, you can add ads as a new post)
Open up one or another of your ad sponsors in a new tab. Find and copy the code for the ad you want to use.
Go back to the blog admin window and choose "Options", black menubar, 3rd from left.
Choose "Boxes", 4th from the left on the next toolbar down
There is a list of open lines with "edit" to the right
"edit" one of the lines
A new window opens.
Name your box Ads
Click to enable it
If you want a box to show up around it when it shows up on your blog, go ahead and click that box.
Move it on up to Lesson Six
